This Type 49 was owned by Bunny Phillips for many years until bought by Tom Barrett who painted it a red/black color like the famous Type 50 Profilée. The American Bugatti Club register says that it "may have been one of the first Jean Bugatti designs."
It was in the Blackhawk collection for a time, but not any more.
