When in May 1987 it became known that the Bugatti brand had been acquired to revive it, the automotive world began to vibrate.

The protagonists of this initiative were two: the engineer Paolo Stanzani (father of the most prestigious Lamborghini cars) who had already started designing a new car even before the actual acquisition of the brand, and an entrepreneur very passionate about motor vehicles, successfully engaged in their importation from Japan and in the distribution of Ferrari cars.

Paolo Stanzani, sole director of Bugatti Automobili, activated, among others, Marcello Gandini, internationally renowned designer and immediately after Dario Trucco, author of this book, commissioning him to do what was necessary to design and build the bodywork of the car that Gandini himself was drawing. With modest investments the engineer. Stanzani managed to create the engine, all the mechanics, the chassis and the first bodywork.

And then what happened?
Many have told what followed, starting with the entrepreneur with a book by him. Others also spoke about it, and the opinions expressed by each could not have been more different.

How could this "impasse", the result of a plot with a thousand truths, be overcome? Simple: interview all the people who, in any role, had participated in the project, collect their testimonies and report them in full, until this book was put together, which could not have been titled otherwise: Bugatti, the true story of the EB110.

A true and exciting story, even for "non-experts"!

Quando nel maggio 1987 si venne a sapere che il marchio Bugatti era stato acquisito per farlo rinascere, il mondo dell'automobile iniziò a fibrillare.

I protagonisti di questa iniziativa erano due: l'ingegner Paolo Stanzani (padre delle più prestigiose automobili Lamborghini) che aveva già iniziato a progettare una nuova vettura ancora prima dell'acquisizione effettiva del marchio, e un imprenditore molto appassionato di autoveicoli, impegnato con successo nella loro importazione dal Giappone e nella distribuzione di vetture Ferrari.

Paolo Stanzani, amministratore unico della Bugatti Automobili, attivò, tra gli altri, Marcello Gandini, designer di fama internazionale e subito dopo Dario Trucco, autore di questo libro, incaricandolo di fare quanto necessario per progettare e costruire la carrozzeria dell'auto che Gandini stesso stava disegnando. Con investimenti modesti l'ing. Stanzani riuscì a realizzare il motopropulsore, tutta la meccanica, il telaio e la prima carrozzeria.

E poi cosa successe?
Il seguito l'hanno raccontato in tanti, a partire dall'imprenditore con un suo libro. Anche altri ne parlarono, e le opinioni espresse da ciascuno non potevano essere le più diverse.

Come si poteva superare questa "impasse", figlia di una trama dalle mille verità?

Semplice: interpellare tutte le persone che, con qualunque ruolo, avevano partecipato al progetto, raccogliere le loro testimonianze riportandole integralmente, fino a confezionare questo libro, che non poteva intitolarsi diversamente: Bugatti, la vera storia della EB110.

Una vicenda vera e appassionante, anche per i "non addetti ai lavori"!
